Sleek Lens Lightroom Presets

I was recently approached by @SleekLens to test and review some of their presets and brushes for Adobe Lightroom.

Presets and brushes essentially make it a 'one click' deal to apply dozens of fine tuned develop settings to a photograph when editing.  The goal - > to streamline the photographer's post production workflow, and save time.

I have made 2 or 3 of my own sets, so its nice to see what @sleeklens put together.  The following are before and after screenshots of results I got my first time working with their presets.

Every photographer develops their own style, and the "Through the Woods" package I reviewed seemed to have the a fair range of the stylistic spectrum spoken for.  You can see that the shots I chose to work with were sharp landscapes with poppy colors.  Its an easy place to start, but I did find presets that worked will with more low contrast images, the moody foggy mystic type of stuff.

My overall impression with the @sleeklens presets and brushes is pleasant.  Will I continue to use them?  Yes.  Will I use them exclusively?  No.  I think building your own presets is essential to any photographers workflow, however, thats easier said than done.  Purchasing a set is a great jumping off point into this world, and it gives you a great base to build on.  I think that any photographer could benefit from a set of presets, as long as they seek to understand how they function and how they can truly save you time.

The main thing to remember is that photography is subjective.  There will never be a right, or a wrong.  It's art, so there is no magic bullet, and the mood of every image is different.  Sleek Lens is a great jumpstart or boost for creating a faster workflow and learning more about how photos react to different treatments.
