Nothing to Prove, The Movie - Part 1

September 2014 - Transworld Snowboarding

( I worked as a still photographer on this movie)

Nothing To Prove part one tells the stories of the early season and mid season through the eyes of the Celtek Gloves crew. The movie kicks off with all the homies hanging out at Bjorn Leines house to ride his Jib Farm. Which is a DIY snowboard park set up in a field on his property. The features in the Jib Farm are mostly scrap metal tubes, water drums, and old machines which are all great for jibbing. Once the big storms come during the mid season the crew focuses its attention on the streets. Everything is going well and everyone is stacking shots until a few key members of the team are taken out by a series of injuries. Which leaves it up to the am team to deliver on producing clips. And deliver they all do as the last four minutes of part one is heater after heater of heavy tricks. Part two drops next Wednesday exclusively at TWSNOW.com.

The Provo Bros for Orvis

January 2016 - Orvis.com

"In late 2012, Ian and Neil Provo released their film “Steelhead & Spines,” about an amazing trip to Southeast Alaska to do some backcountry fly-fishing for steelhead and find the perfect untouched “spines” for skiing and snowboarding. (They’ve since made a second installment.) Fly-fishing filmmakers had long been inspired by the works of Warren Miller and other snow-sports auteurs, but the Provo Bros. were the first to combine the two sports in a major production..............

Video grass Party @ Rail Gardens

Shot for Snowboarder Magazine - December 2010

Friday Night. December 3, 2010. Snow in the streets of Salt Lake City. Snowboarders.  The Rail Gardens. Pizza. Homemade trophies. Beer. Videograss. Grass. Music. Friends. Lights. Generators. PARTY.

The party was cool until LNP brought Meryl Streep and David Hasselhoff.

A film-season kick off party? I wouldn’t take it that far, but by the time you read this, just about every crew in snowboarding will be fully operational, stacking shots, and doing what they do best.

fter The Hoff broke up the party and scared off the girls, it was a pretty mellow scene. (Clockwise -> Young Brady Larson, surprisingly not pictured with his BFF Ben. Justin Bennee came equipped with the beats, and some pizza. -> Got great grass on video, Videograss’s videos.

Justin Meyer and the Videograss crew were generous enough to bust out their lights and generators to throw a little get down at one of snowboarding’s most well known spots. The Rail Gardens. A proving ground, a hangout, a practice spot, a measly dog park. Call it what you will, the Rail Gardens gets more play than weird/cute animal youtube vidoes on Huggy’s computer.

Chris Bradshaw appears.

Word of the session spread like the sickening pollution that loves SLC, and a great group of rides came out of the woodwork for a 3 hour fiesta that was bound to have pleased La Nina. Grenier was even so kind as to weld some trophies out of scrap metal beforehand. Good times indeed.

Come January, Videograss will release their Rail Gardens Party edit right here on SNOWBOARDERmag.com to kick off a series of exclusive edits that will, if I heard correctly, be some of the dopest shit ever.

It's Back

Jan 1 2009 - Erik Van Assche.  Front 3 Nose Bonk.  Truckee, CA.

This image has been sitting around so long the file got corrupted, but I almost like it better this way.  Erik, Chris Bosco, Richie Eaton, Steven Waters and myself found this old shanty on the side of the highway North of Truckee.  It was set into a hill and had a great natural landing, so after an hour of shoveling, we hucked this old oil drum on the corner of the roof and got to shredding.
